Game Notes

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern will play its second road game in three days on Monday when it travels to Minneapolis to take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers.

The opening tip between Northwestern (17-7, 6-5) and Minnesota (13-12, 4-8) is set for 6 p.m. This is a makeup of the game postponed back on Jan. 11.

The game will be streamed live via BTN Plus on BTN2Go. WNUR Sports will have the call on the radio, and live stats will be available courtesy of Minnesota. Links for all can be found in the table at the top of the page.

Northwestern is coming off a loss at Indiana on Saturday. The 'Cats have lost two in a row after having won four of five. Minnesota most recently beat Rutgers 80-46 on Saturday.

SERIES HISTORY
Northwestern leads the all-time series with Minnesota, 36-33. The Wildcats ended a two-game skid last season with a 79-73 win in the Big Ten Tournament. Minnesota holds an 18-12 advantage in Minneapolis. The last regular season meeting was a memorable one, as the Golden Gophers came away with a 112-106 overtime win in Evanston on Feb. 7, 2016.

AWARDS SEASON
As the 2016-17 season winds down, seniors Ashley Deary and Nia Coffey have been selected to various watch lists for national awards. Deary is a top-10 finalist for the Nancy Lieberman Award, given annually to the nation's best point guard. She was also recently named CoSIDA Academic All-District. Coffey was selected to the John R. Wooden Award Late Season Top 20 List, as announced on ESPNU on Feb. 8. She is also among the finalists for the Naismith Award. Both are given to the national player of the year, as voted on by the various award committees. Coffey is also a finalist for the USWBA award, also presented to the national player of the year.
