EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern will attempt to set a school record with its 10th straight win to open a season when it travels to Raleigh, N.C. to take on North Carolina State Friday at 1 p.m.
The Wildcats won a trio of matches last weekend to improve their record to 9-0, tying the 1989 team for the best start to a season.
Northwestern jumped up to No. 7 in the Oracle ITA national rankings on Wednesday, matching the highest point the team reached last season. The 'Cats are No. 8 in the first-ever installment of the USTA rankings.

History
North Carolina State leads the all-time series 4-3. Northwestern won a 6-1 decision last season in Evanston. The Wolfpack won the most recent meeting in Raleigh, 4-3, in 2015.
