HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. — Redshirt first years Sebastian Rivera (125) and Ryan Deakin (149) will wrestle to secure third-place finishes in the 55th Annual Ken Kraft Midlands Championship on Saturday night at the Sears Centre Arena.
 
UPDATED BRACKETS

First year Colin Valdiviez (133) and redshirt junior Conan Jennings (285) will each battle their foes in the fifth-place bout in Session IV, while redshirt junior Johnny Sebastian (174) and first year Yahya Thomas (141 - unattached) have finished in seventh place.
 
#12 Rivera will match up against #19 Zeke Moisey (West Virginia) in the third place match, while #9 Deakin will battle the true first year Pat Lugo of Iowa.
 
In order to wrestle in the third-place bout, Deakin topped Jason Tsirtsis of Arizona State, a former Wildcat, with a 5-3 decision.
 
Valdiviez, unseeded while wrestling in his first-ever Midlands, will face #20 Dylan Duncan of Illinois, while #19 Jennings will wrestle Amar Dhesi (Oregon State) for the second time this Midlands. Jennings won the first bout, a 9-2 decision.
 
In all, six Wildcats will place in the Midlands, NU's most since 2011. Chicago's Big Ten Team sits in seventh place in the team standings of the prestigious event.
