EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern returns home to historic Beardsley Gym after four straight games on the road when it plays Milwaukee Sunday at 2 p.m. inside Evanston Township High School.
The Wildcats (5-3) are coming off a narrow road loss to No. 25 Syracuse in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, in which first-year guard Lindsey Pulliam dropped a career-high 29 points, the most by a first year player in program history since Nia Coffey had 29 at Iowa in February 2014.
Northwestern is throwing an ugly sweater party for fans during the game. Fans who arrive wearing an ugly sweater will receive discounted tickets, and early arriving fans will receive an ugly sweater hat.
Three Northwestern student-athletes average double figures in scoring, led by Pulliam at 15.9 points per game. Sophomore forward Abi Scheid scores 13.3 per contest, while junior forward Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah averages a double-double with 10.9 points and 10.9 rebounds per game. Senior Lydia Rohde is one of the top three-point shooters in the Big Ten, ranking 10th by knocking down 41 percent of her attempts from beyond the arc.
The Wildcats are 2-0 at home this year with wins over Oakland (88-70) and Santa Clara (57-47).
NU's defense is the best in the Big Ten in points allowed per game (57.6) and opponent shooting percentage (34 percent).
