Scheid's Double-Digit Performance Paces ’Cats Against Milwaukee

EVANSTON, Ill. — Sophomore forward Abi Scheid scored 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting and the Wildcats charged hard in the second half on Sunday, but the effort fell short in a 66-57 setback to Milwaukee at historic Beardsley Gym.
The Wildcats outscored the Panthers, 28-25, between the second and third quarters. The #B1GCats shot 42.9 percent from beyond the arc in the contest.
Scheid tied her season-high of six three-point attempts, while also contributing seven rebounds, four assists, and her first block of the season.
Junior forward Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds, notching her second consecutive and fifth double-double of the season.
Sophomore guard Byrdy Galernik tied her career high of eight points, while also setting new career highs with two three-pointers made and two attempted.
First-year guards Jordan Hamilton and Lindsey Pulliam each contributed eight points and combined for eight assists.
NU assisted on 20 of its 23 made field goals and the Wildcats registered their season-low in turnovers, recording just 12 giveaways.
Chicago's Big Ten Team now has a week off until its next game, when it plays Stony Brook on Sunday at noon at historic Beardsley Gym.

- Northwestern made five threes in the first half, the most they've had in a half since they made six in each half against Ohio State on Jan. 3, 2017.
- Northwestern assisted 10 of 11 first-half field goals … The Wildcats finished with 20 assists on 23 field goals, raising their average assists per game to 16.4 … The 20 assists are the second-most in a game this season for NU.
