SYRACUSE, N.Y. — First-year guard Lindsey Pulliam scored a career high 29 points on 13-of-20 shooting at the Carrier Dome on Thursday, but the Wildcats narrowly fell to No. 25 Syracuse, 81-74.

Pulliam posted 19 first-half points in the herculean effort, the most by an NU player in a single half this season. She recorded 13 made field goals in the contest, also the most for a Northwestern player this year.

The Wildcats were also helped by junior forward Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah, who notched her fourth double-double of the season, finishing with 12 points and 14 rebounds.

Northwestern played a neck-and-neck contest with the ranked Orange, but were outscored in the waning minutes.

NU outshot the Orange, 45 percent to 38 percent. Four NU players finished with double-digits in points.

The Wildcats led the contest for more than 12 minutes, logging a season-high 67 field goal attempts.

Chicago's Big Ten Team shot 44 percent from the field in the first 20 minutes, while holding Syracuse's three-point shooting team to just 4-of-18 from beyond the arc to take a 36-34 lead into the locker room.

Northwestern returns home to host Milwaukee on Sunday, Dec. 3 at historic Beardsley Gym. Tip is set for 2 p.m.
