EVANSTON, Ill. – Senior goalkeeper Lauren Clem was named the national Goalkeeper of the Week by Top Drawer Soccer after stopping three penalty kicks in Northwestern's shootout with Butler in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Sunday. The Wildcats advanced 3-2 on PKs to the Round of 32.

Clem and the Northwestern defense held Butler scoreless through regulation and two overtime periods, a total of 110 minutes. The Bulldogs knocked their first two penalty kicks through in the shootout before Clem shut them down on the next three.

Northwestern has never lost a penalty kick shootout in program history.

The shutout was the 48th of Clem's career, moving her into sole possession of third place in NCAA history. Northwestern has played a program-record 734 straight shutout minutes at home and has posted shutouts in six of the last eight matches overall.

Chicago's Big Ten Team plays at No. 2 seed UCLA Friday night at 10 p.m. CT in the NCAA Tournament Round of 32.
