EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern returns home Monday, Oct. 9 to face Western Illinois at Martin Stadium. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. CT.

Monday's game is Youth Day at Martin Stadium. The program is inviting all students, staff, and families from the greater Chicagoland area to celebrate Columbus Day with $3 tickets to the game.

The 'Cats are looking to continue their success in non-conference matches at home this season. NU is 2-0 in those games with wins over Valparaiso (Aug. 25) and UIC (Sept. 20).

Western Illinois boasts a 4-5 record on the year with a 2-0 mark in Summit League play. The Leathernecks are coming off a 2-0 win over Eastern Illinois.

NU holds the all-time series lead with a record of 11-8-0. Western Illinois won eight of the first 13 matchups, and the Wildcats have won six straight since. The most recent meeting was in the first round of the 2012 NCAA Tournament in a match that finished 1-0 on a goal from Northwestern's Nick Gendron.

Last time out, Chicago's Big Ten Team took No. 9 Notre Dame to overtime before falling 2-1. First year Tommy Katsiyiannis scored his first career goal on an assist from Sean Lynch in the opening period, and the 'Cats nearly hung on for the upset. The Fighting Irish scored an equalizer in the 80th minute and eventually prevailed in the extra period.

Goalkeeper Robbie White recorded five saves in the match, following up his career-high of ten in the contest against Maryland (Sept. 29). The junior has tallied 23 saves in four appearances this season.

Northwestern is coming off consecutive tilts with top-ten teams and currently holds the seventh-toughest schedule in the nation.
