EVANSTON, Ill. – One week before Northwestern kicks off the 2017 season against Nevada, the Wildcats will host the annual Meet The Team Night on Friday, August 25, at Ryan Field.

Gate V of Ryan Field will open for Meet The Team Night, a free event, at 5:30 p.m. Free parking is available in Ryan Field's West Lot.

At 6 p.m., Dan & Susan Jones Family Head Football Coach Pat Fitzgerald will address the Wildcats community from the west sideline of Ryan Field, and introduce Northwestern's 2017 team captains for the first time.

Following the announcement of the Wildcats captains, fans of all ages will have the opportunity to interact with student-athletes on Ryan Field. Fans can play catch with their favorite players, attempt field goals, take pictures and run races on Ryan Field with members of the Northwestern Football Family.

Fans will be able purchase hot dogs for the low price of $1 at Meet the Team Night. In addition, Coca-Cola will supply drinks for $1 on August 25.

In addition, the Wildcats will once again team up with Lifesource to host the Purple Pride Blood Drive & Bone Marrow Registry at Ryan Field on Thursday, August 24 and Friday, August 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Ryan Field Stadium Club on the 7th Floor. All donors will receive one (1) free non-conference Northwestern football ticket, (choice of either the Nevada or Bowling Green game), will be placed in a raffle to receive an autographed football signed by Coach Fitzgerald, and an opportunity to win the Donor of the Month VIP experience.

The 2017 campaign begins on Saturday, Sept. 2 when the Wildcats welcome Nevada to Ryan Field for the first time since 2007, at 2:30 p.m. Chicago's Big Ten Team will then travel to Durham N.C., to face ACC foe Duke (Sept. 9, 11 a.m.), and then return home to take on Bowling Green (Sept. 16, 6:30 p.m.). The 'Cats will also welcome Penn State, Iowa, Michigan State, Purdue and Minnesota to Evanston this fall.
