No. 40 Northwestern Cruises Past Nebraska, 4-0

LINCOLN, Neb. -- No. 40 Northwestern had little trouble in its first road test of the conference season, improving to 4-0 in Big Ten play with a 4-0 win at Nebraska Friday afternoon.
 
Playing outdoors, the Wildcats (8-8, 4-0 B1G) took care of business in doubles play as they captured the point to jump out to the lead. The No. 2 team of Erin Larner and Brooke Rischbieth easily took down Lisa Andersson and Vasanti Shinde, 6-1, while the No. 3 duo of Jillian Rooney and Lee Or rolled past Claire Reifeis and Hayley Haakenstad, 6-2.
 
Northwestern continued to dominate in singles play, particularly at the No. 1 spot where Erin Larner didn't surrender a single game to Shinde, winning 6-0, 6-0 to put the 'Cats up 2-0 in the match.
 
Rheeya Doshi was in control at No. 3 where she notched a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Paula Del Cueto Castillo before Brooke Rischbieth wrapped up the win for the Wildcats by taking down Haakenstad at No. 6.
 
Northwestern returns to action at noon Sunday when it travels to Iowa.
