Match Notes
EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern welcomes Penn State to Welsh-Ryan Arena on Sunday for the Wildcats' first home match of the 2016 season after 13 straight on the road. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m.
The match will be broadcast online via BTN Plus on BTN2Go and live scoring will be available. WNUR will also provide an online audio broadcast. Links for all can be found in the table above.
All Northwestern students are invited to attend for Sundae Sunday. Ice cream sundaes will be served to students pre-match. Student admission is free.
General admission tickets are $7, while groups of 15 or more can get in the door for $3. Youth tickets are $5.
Chicago's Big Ten Team ended a 13-year losing streak to the Nittany Lions with a thrilling 3-2 win last year over then-No. 3 Penn State in Evanston.
Junior outside hitter Symone Abbott continues to lead the Big Ten with 4.27 kills per set, a mark that ranks 27th in the country. She also leads the conference in points at 230.5. Abbott has 966 career kills and is just 34 away from becoming the 22nd Wildcat all-time to reach the 1,000 mark.
Junior setter Taylor Tashima needs just six assists to move into seventh place on Northwestern's all-time list. She is at 2,460 for her career and trails Kelli Meyer for the seven spot.
