8/24/2016 10:30:00 AM | Men's Basketball

EVANSTON, Ill. – Big Ten Network announced its men's basketball schedule for the upcoming nonconference season and Northwestern will appear on the channel five times prior to the start of league play.

The Wildcats' first appearance on BTN will be the team's second game of the season when it hosts Eastern Washington on Nov. 14 at Welsh-Ryan Arena. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m.

Northwestern will have four consecutive games televised by BTN to open the month of December, starting with a Dec. 3 home game against local foe DePaul. Tip time for that contest will not be announced until the participants in the Big Ten football championship game -- which is being held that same day -- have been determined.

The 'Cats will have all three of their games during the week of Dec. 11 televised starting with a 6 p.m. matchup vs. New Orleans on Sunday the 11th. Three days later, Northwestern faces Chicago State in another 6 p.m. tip.

NU's nonconference BTN slate wraps up Dec. 17 when it faces off against Dayton at United Center in Chicago as part of State Farm Chicago Legends. Tip time for that contest is set for 6 p.m.

All games can be streamed via the web, smartphones, tablets and connected devices on BTN2Go, BTN's digital extension.

Previously announced Northwestern televised nonconference matchups include a Nov. 16 game at Butler (FS1) as well as the team's second game of the Legends Classic in Brooklyn Nov. 22 (ESPN2 or ESPNU).

Tip times for the remainder of the Wildcats' nonconference games as well as the team's Big Ten Conference schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.
