Match Notes: Northwestern

EVANSTON, Ill. – Big Ten play continues for Northwestern with a trip to Michigan to take on a pair of top-25 teams this weekend.

The Wildcats travel to East Lansing, Mich. for a matchup with No. 16 Michigan State on Friday before heading off to Ann Arbor to face No. 17 Michigan on Saturday.

Northwestern will play the Spartans at 5:30 p.m. CT and the Wolverines at 6 p.m. CT. Both matches will be streamed live on BTN Plus.

"ATTACK, 11…KILL"
Maddie Slater is hitting .310 this season, which ranks as the 11th best single-season performance in program history. Last season, her .344 hitting percentage was the fourth highest total. Slater's .311 career mark is tied for the all-time high in Northwestern history.

WIN THE FIRST SET
Northwestern is 8-2 in 2016 when it wins the first set, a year after going 13-0. The team was also 14-0 when it had the advantage in hitting percentage and is 6-2 this season.

MILESTONE TRACKER
Taylor Tashima moved into sixth-place all-time at Northwestern in assists against Illinois on Oct. 5th. She currently sits at 2,760 for her career, and at her current pace she will pass Andrea Proos (1985-88) for fifth by the end of the season.
Kayla Morin enters her senior season as another all-around force for the Wildcats. She is the active leader on the team with 867 digs and also has 968 kills and 203 blocks. She would become only the ninth player in program history to eclipse both 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs.
