Season Stats
EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern senior Strong Kirchheimer takes his six-match winning streak to one of the nation's premier collegiate tournaments this weekend, the ITA National Indoor Championships in Flushing, N.Y.
Kirchheimer ran through the field at the Midwest Regionals two weeks ago in Columbus, Ohio, as the overall No. 2 seed to secure an automatic berth into the national tournament.
He will face the No. 3 seed, Wake Forest's Petros Chrysochos in the first round. Chrysochos is ranked eighth in the country and was 26-5 at the No. 2 singles spot a year ago for the Demon Deacons.
Their match is scheduled to begin at 1:15 CT on Thursday. Live scoring can be found here. A live stream is also available with a subscription to FloTennis.
At the same time Kirchheimer is in New York, four Wildcats will be playing at the Big Ten Singles and Doubles Tournament in Madison, Wis. Sophomores Michael Lorenzini and Jason Seidman and freshmen Dominik Starý and Chris Ephron will make the trip north to compete against other young conference competition.
