Match Notes

EVANSTON, Ill. – Big Ten play continues for Northwestern with a two of the nation's best coming to Welsh-Ryan Arena this weekend. The Wildcats host No. 3 Wisconsin Saturday night at 7 p.m. and play No. 2 Minnesota at the same time on Sunday.

Both matches will be streamed live via BTN Plus on BTN2Go.

Saturday night will be the Wildcats' annual "Beach Bash." Early arriving fans will receive free sunglasses and leis.

"ATTACK, 11…KILL"
Maddie Slater is hitting .307 for her career, which ranks second all-time in Northwestern history. Last season, her .344 hitting percentage was the fourth highest total. She is hitting .299 this year.

SYMONE SLAM
Junior outside hitter Symone Abbott has been an important offensive weapon for the Wildcats in 2016. She is averaging 3.96 kills per set, which ranks fifth in the Big Ten. Her mark currently ranks eighth in program single-season history. The program record is 4.48. Abbott recorded her 1,000th career kill in the third set against Iowa on Oct. 1, becoming the 22nd player in Wildcats' history to reach the milestone. The program record is 1,797, set by Stephanie Holthus from 2010-13.

MILESTONE TRACKER
Taylor Tashima moved into sixth-place all-time at Northwestern in assists against Illinois on Oct. 5th. She currently sits at 2,826 for her career, and at her current pace she will pass Andrea Proos (1985-88) for fifth this weekend. She needs just 48 more assists to tie Proos.

Kayla Morin enters her senior season as another all-around force for the Wildcats. She is the active leader on the team with 869 digs and also has 984 kills and 206 blocks. Only eight players in program history have eclipsed both 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs.
