2016 Windy City Collegiate Classic – RESULTS

Kim turned in the second-lowest round in program history on Monday morning, carding a 66 on the strength of seven birdies. The junior birdied No. 2, but truly caught fire around the bend, recording birdies on No. 7, No. 9, and then Nos. 11, 12, 13 and 15. The Chula Vista, California, native finished third in the field overall with 13 birdies in the tournament.

Junior Sarah Cho turned in the Wildcats most consistent tournament, shooting 72-73-73 to earn her second Top-20 finish of the season. Senior Kacie Komoto finished one stroke behind her teammate, in a tie for 22nd.

Northwestern finished in seventh overall as a team, including the seventh-best team round in program history in Round 1.

The University of Georgia captured the 2016 Windy City championship for a second consecutive year by firing a 10-under 854, four strokes better than runner-up Stanford. The Cardinal were led by individual medalist Andrea Lee, who birdied the 54th hole to card a final round 67 and edge Georgia's Bailey Tardy – the reigning Windy City champion - by one stroke. The Stanford rookie finished with a 10-under 206 to earn the win in her collegiate debut.

Wildcats rookie Brooke Riley provided one of the final round's highlights early on Tuesday, holing out from the fairway on the 325-yard, Par-4 No.12 for an eagle. The first year student from Manteca, California, was the top finisher among Northwestern's five individual competitors, carding a 221 to claim a share of 32nd place.

Glen View Club relentlessly challenged one of the deepest fields in women's college golf through three rounds on Monday and Tuesday. Only three (of 14) teams and 11 (of 78) individuals finished under par.

Northwestern will head west next week to the Stanford Intercollegiate on October 14, 15 and 16, in Palo Alto.

Now in its ninth iteration, the Windy City has developed into perhaps the most elite event on the women's college golf fall calendar. The 2016 field included Arizona, Duke, Florida, Georgia, Iowa State, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Purdue, Stanford, Tulane, USC and Vanderbilt. The 14-team leaderboard featured 10 programs that competed at the 2016 NCAA Golf Championships in Eugene (and one more with an individual), and six of the Top-8 teams from last season's final Golfstat rankings.

This marks the third time the event has been held at Glen View Club (2011, '12). It had previously been hosted at Westmoreland Country Club (2014, '15), Northmoor Country Club (2010, '13), The Glen Club (2009) & Evanston Country Club (2008).
