EVANSTON, Ill. – Tenth-ranked Northwestern closes out its 2016 regular season on the road this weekend, taking on Michigan State in East Lansing on Friday prior to squaring off with No. 17 Stanford in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on Saturday.
Friday's contest with the Spartans gets underway at 2 p.m. Central time and is being broadcast live by Big Ten Network.
The Wildcats (11-6, 4-3 B1G) are making a trip to the state of Michigan for the second straight weekend. NU posted a convincing 8-0 win at Central Michigan on Sunday behind a four-goal effort by Pascale Massey. Massey's performance marked the first four-goal game by a Northwestern player since Chelsea Armstrong scored four times against Missouri State on Oct. 21, 2012.
The four tallies by Massey helped her join Isabel Flens (15) and Dominique Masters (10) in scoring double-figure goals for the Wildcats this season. Northwestern is the only team in the Big Ten with three individuals who have scored 10 or more goals.
Following this weekend's games, NU makes the trek to College Park, Maryland, for the Big Ten tournament that gets underway Thursday at the University of Maryland campus.
