Kim Wraps Up Fall Campaign With Third Consecutive Top-8 Finish

STANFORD, Calif. – Junior Hannah Kim earned her third straight Top-10 finish of the season, and sophomore Janet Mao picked up her first Top-20 result of the campaign, at the 2016 Stanford Intercollegiate, the final event of the fall calendar for the No. 17 Wildcats.
Sunday's third round was called due to rain resulting in standing water on several greens, making the competition official through 36 holes of play.
2016 Stanford Intercollegiate – RESULTS
Both Kim and Mao fired 4-over 75's on Saturday in Round 2, with the two-time Big Ten Player of the Year wrapping up the day in a tie for 8th at +2, and Mao three strokes back with a share of 18th.
As a team, Northwestern finished in eighth, just three strokes out of the Top-3 on a compact leaderboard. The Wildcats next competition begins on February 12 in Palos Verdes, California, at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge hosted by Palos Verdes Golf Club.

The 54-hole event is hosted by Dr. Condoleezza Rice, the Thomas and Barbara Stephenson Senior Fellow on Public Policy at Stanford's Hoover Institution. Dr. Rice served as U.S. Secretary of State from 2005-09 and is an avid golfer.
Based on the latest Golfweek/Sagarin rankings, the 17-team field included five of the nation's Top-7 teams, and eight of the Top-25. The leaderboard featured No. 2 Stanford, No. 3 USC, No. 5 UCLA, No. 6 Georgia, No. 7 Florida, No. 17 Northwestern, No. 18 Oklahoma State, No. 24 Arizona State, No. 27 San Jose State, No. 33 San Diego State, No. 37 Colorado, No. 41 Cal, No. 46 Pepperdine, Iowa State, UC Davis, USF and Washington.

Throughout the years, Stanford has hosted many intercollegiate and non-collegiate events, including the Stanford Intercollegiate, Peg Barnard Intercollegiate, Pac-10 Championship, NCAA Regional, NCAA Women's Championship, USGA Junior Amateur Qualifying, U.S. Open Qualifying and The Gathering at the Farm, a former Senior PGA Tour event.
