No. 24 Wildcats Earn Scoreless Draw at Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Junior goalkeeper Lauren Clem registered a career-best nine saves in Northwestern's scoreless double-overtime draw on Saturday night at Ohio State. The game marked the Wildcats ninth clean sheet of the year.
The 'Cats are now 10-1-1 on the season heading into a pair of home games next week against Michigan State and Michigan.
The Buckeyes attacked early with a header attempt that went wide left in the fourth minute. OSU outshot Chicago's Big Ten Team, 6-1, in the first 20 minutes of play, but the Wildcats' defense proved to be a dominant force.
After 45 minutes of action, the game remained scoreless as the teams entered the halftime break.
The second period played out much like the first as neither team could capitalize. The Buckeyes drew three corners in the final 45 seconds of regulation, but were unable to find the back of the net to force the game into overtime.
The two squads played out 20 minutes of extra time with neither team able to cash in. The Wildcats best opportunity in the game's late stages came when Maddy Lucas drilled an opportunity off the left post.
Northwestern will return to the friendly confines of Lanny & Sharon Martin Stadium on Thursday, Oct. 6, when it hosts Michigan State at 7 p.m. CT.
