EVANSTON, Ill. - The Wildcats (13-8, 2-7 B1G) will close out its January schedule against Iowa (14-7, 4-5) on Sunday, Jan. 31. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. and will be streamed live on BTNPlus on BTN2Go.
Northwestern is looking to rebound after four-straight losses to No. 8 Maryland, Minnesota, Indiana and No. 7 Ohio State. However, the Wildcats have been causing problems for opponent offenses all year as they lead the Big Ten in steals (10.9 spg) and turnovers forced (19.2 per game). NU also protects the paint with nearly five blocks per game to rank third in the Big Ten. Nia Coffey leads NU in scoring as she averages a double-double with 20 points and 10.3 rebounds per game to go along with 2.0 blocks per contest. She is the only player in the Big Ten averaging double figures in points and rebounds. Maggie Lyon ranks second on the team in scoring with 16 ppg and leads NU in 3-point makes. The senior co-captain broke NU's all-time record for career 3-pointers made against Minnesota. Junior Christen Inman adds 15 ppg and Ashley Deary chips in 13.6 ppg. Deary also leads the country in steals (4.5 spg) and is second in the conference in assists (6.5 apg). The junior guard is seven assists shy of breaking Northwestern single-season record in steals.
