POMONA, N.J. — Northwestern wrapped up its New Jersey preseason trip undefeated by playing St. John's to a 1-1 draw on Friday evening at Stockton College.
Â
Northwestern got on the board when Ty Seager created offensive pressure for the Wildcats and St. John's scored an own goal.
"We played very hard against a good St. John's team tonight," said head coach Tim Lenahan. "It has been a great week for us in terms of growing as a team. I want to give a special thank you to the coaches and administration at Stockton. We have a lot of work to do, but there are a lot of positives for the week."
St. John's found the back of the net early in the second half to pull even at 1-1.
Â
Francisco Tomasino played all 90 minutes in goal for Northwestern.
Â
The Wildcats went 2-0-1 on the trip, topping South Jersey Select, 8-0, and Colgate, 2-1.
Â
Northwestern will open up the regular season next Friday, Aug. 26 as they host Florida Gulf Coast for the first game at the new Martin Stadium.
