EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern will host its eighth-annual Wildcat Golf Day on Monday, Sept. 19, at the Glen Club in Glenview, Ill., to benefit both the NU men's and women's golf programs.
Â
"I couldn't be more excited to host this year's Wildcat Golf Day at the Glen Club," said Director of Golf Pat Goss. "It is always a fun day celebrating Northwestern Golf and our amazing student-athletes with booster and alumni. After spending a day with our players you realize what makes Northwestern such a special and unique place in the world of college athletics."
Â
The event includes lunch, a 1:30 p.m., shotgun start, a clinic, heavy hors d'oeuvres and an auction. Each group will play nine holes with a Northwestern golfer, switching at the turn. The cost is $750 per person or $3,000 for an entire foursome.
Â
Designed by renowned architect Tom Fazio, the Glen Club's par-72 layout measures 7,149 yards. Opened in 2001, the Glen Club hosted the then-Nationwide Tour's LaSalle Bank/ Bank of America Open for seven years. The Glen Club is also home to NU's newly renovated Luke Donald Outdoor Practice Facility, where the pre-round clinic for this year's event will be held.
The facility includes a 15,000-square foot bent grass range tee, a 1/2-acre practice pitching/chipping area with a 6,000-square foot USGA green, bent grass, bluegrass and fescue turfed areas for a variety of lies and shots. There are also three practice bunkers, totaling 5,000-square feet for shots of varying length into the chipping green. A 3,000-square foot practice putting green is also part of the facility as well as a fairway bunker practice shot area.
In addition to participating in Wildcat Golf Day, several sponsorship opportunities exist for the event. For more information or to access a registration form for Wildcat Golf Day, download the .pdf invitation at the top of this page.
