EVANSTON, Ill. – Fans will have many opportunities to see Northwestern play in Evanston this season as part of a busy 2015-16 schedule that was released by head coach Arvid Swan on Monday.

"We always play a challenging non-conference schedule to prepare the team for the Big Ten and NCAA Championships," Swan said. "The team is looking forward to the opportunity to play against so many quality opponents this year."

The Wildcats open the season at the weeklong All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla., which stretches from Oct. 3 to Oct. 11. Sam Shropshire, ranked 34th in the initial ITA poll, qualified for the Main Draw in singles, while No. 120 Strong Kirchheimer will begin the event in the Qualifying Singles round. Two doubles team – Kirchheimer / Fedor Baev and Shropshire / Alp Horoz – will compete in the qualifying round of doubles, while Horoz, Baev, Mihir Kumar and Konrad Zieba will all begin play in the prequalifying round of singles.

Northwestern will then participate in the Regional championships in South Bend, Ind. from Oct. 22-26. The Big Ten Singles and Doubles tournament runs from Nov. 6-9 in Iowa City, Iowa, and the fall season wraps up with the National Indoors in New York, N.Y. Nov. 12-15.

The 2016 dual season begins in exciting fashion with a Sunday doubleheader. Chicago's Big Ten Team plays at Louisville at 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 17 and then travels back to Evanston for a 6:30 p.m. nightcap vs. Chicago State at the Combe Tennis Center.

Following the National Indoor Championships in mid-February, Chicago's Big Ten Team plays five straight at home beginning with Kentucky on Feb. 13. The 'Cats host North Carolina State, Vanderbilt, UIC and TCU to close out the home portion of February.

A trip to Harvard on Feb. 28 comes before another lengthy home stretch where NU plays seven of eight in Evanston. A March 25 conference match at Purdue is sandwiched between home matches vs. Illinois and Detroit and a stretch of Indiana, IUPUI, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Northern Kentucky.

The Wildcats go to Nebraska and Iowa during the second weekend in April, come home to play Michigan and Michigan State on April 15 and 17, respectively, and then wrap up the Big Ten regular season with trips to Ohio State and Penn State.

The Big Ten Championships are April 28-May 1 in Minneapolis, Minn.
