Lindsey leads six Wildcats in double figures with 22 points

MADRID, Spain – Sophomore Scottie Lindsey got Northwestern off to a hot start, scoring the first 8 points of the game en route to a game-high 22 as the Wildcats rolled over Eurocolegio Casvi 98-50 Tuesday evening in the second game of the exhibition tour in Spain.
Aaron Falzon (15), Joey van Zegeren (14), Tre Demps (13) Dererk Pardon (12) and Vic Law (10) teamed with Lindsey to give NU six players who scored in double figures.
Lindsey's hot hand help Northwestern surge out to a 15-3 lead to open the game and the Wildcats were on their way. Falzon knocked down a pair of 3-pointers during the opening surge. Eurocolegio Casvi closed to within 22-15, but a 3-pointer and a free throw by Demps gave the 'Cats a 26-16 lead after the opening quarter.
Leading 28-18 early in the second period, Northwestern used a 16-0 run to put the game out of reach. The Wildcats would eventually take a 50-27 advantage into the intermission with Lindsey and Demps tallying 10 points apiece in the first half.
NU extended the lead to 30 early in the third quarter with van Zegeren leading the way. The graduate student center threw down three dunks in the period and scored 9 points in the quarter.
The fourth period turned into a dunkfest for the Wildcats down the stretch as Lindsey had three flushes and Gavin Skelly added another as Northwestern finished the contest with 10 slams.
NU shot 50 percent from the field (35-70) in the contest while holding Eurocolegio Casvi to 28.1 percent (16-57). Bryant McIntosh dished out nine of Northwestern's 27 assists. The Wildcats dominated on the glass, outrebounding their opponents 57-23. Law notched a game-high 10 rebounds to record a double-double.
Northwestern returns to action at 1 p.m. Central time Thursday when it faces UCAM Murcia II in Murcia, Spain.
