EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern will host its seventh-annual Wildcat Golf Day with Luke Donald on Monday, Sept. 21, at the North Shore Country Club in Glenview, Ill., to benefit both the NU men's and women's golf programs.
The event includes lunch, a 1:30 p.m., shotgun start, a clinic, heavy hors d'oeuvres and an auction. Each group will play nine holes with a Northwestern golfer, switching at the turn. The cost is $750 per person or $3,000 for an entire foursome.
"It is incredibly generous of Luke Donald to offer a day of his time to support his alma mater's golf programs," said Director of Golf and Player Development Pat Goss. "He has been an incredible representative for our university, athletic department and golf program. I don't know of a Tour player who has been more generous to his alma mater or stayed more involved than Luke."
Designed by the legendary golf course architecture firm of Harry S. Colt and Charles H. Alison, North Shore is a Chicago area classic. The club has hosted the 1928 Western Open, the 1933 U.S. Open, the 1939 and 1983 U.S. Amateur's, and the 2011 Western Amateur. Most recently North Shore served as the host of the 2013-15 Encompass Championship on the Champions Tour.
In addition to participating in Wildcat Golf Day, several sponsorship opportunities exist for the event. For more information or to access a registration form for Wildcat Golf Day, download the .pdf invitation at the top of this page.
"Wildcat Golf Day is always a special day with our alumni and boosters," said Goss. "It is a great opportunity to meet the amazing student-athletes that make our program special and support he golf programs in return."
