CHICAGO -- Fourteen head football coaches and 42 student-athletes from around the Big Ten gathered at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place and the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago on July 30-31 for the conference's 44th annual Kickoff Luncheon and Media Days.

As Northwestern head coach Pat Fitzgerald readies for his 10th season as the leader of the Wildcats at the event, he was joined by senior wide receiver Christian Jones, senior superback Dan Vitale and senior cornerback Nick VanHoose. The quartet handled radio appearances, photo shoots, reporter interviews and more. Below is a detailed social media recap of the yearly B1G Kickoff event through a Wildcats lens.

Chicago's Big Ten Team welcomes the rest of the conference to our home! Jones, Vitale and VanHoose pose for the first of many pictures in the lobby before the media opportunities rolled around. Fitzgerald's first stop was a radio interview with the crew from Sirius XM College Sports Nation. There may or may not be video. You'll have to stay tuned this fall to find out. He's a leader in the secondary and with ukulele. Jones needed only three words to sum up the best conference country. Fitzgerald stepped to the podium for his initial address of the season. Willie's Angels shared plenty of laughs throughout the day. Don't mess with the Fist of Fitz. No shortage of storylines as the Wildcats prepare to open training camp in about one week. The 'Cats and Huskers have certainly had a few thrillers in recent years. Can't wait to see those purple threads at Ryan Field on September 5 when Stanford rolls into Evanston. The players joined the BTN Live set to visit with host Dave Revsine and talk Wildcats football. BTN brought in Fitzgerald as its final guest Friday.
