Ninety-nine student-athletes received degrees Friday
EVANSTON, Ill. -- Ninety-nine Northwestern student-athletes joined their peers on Ryan Field Friday morning to participate in the school's 157th Commencement ceremony.
To begin the weekend's festivities, Northwestern University's N Club held its annual Induction and Senior Recognition Banquet Thursday night at the Hilton Orrington Evanston, inducting the senior class into the N Club while honoring several Wildcats for outstanding seasons and careers for NU.

Perhaps the night's most prestigious award was the Big Ten Medal of Honor. Celebrating its 101st anniversary this year, this is the conference's most exclusive award, and was the first of its kind in intercollegiate athletics to recognize academic and athletic excellence. Big Ten schools currently feature more than 8,200 student-athletes, but only 24 earn this prestigious award on an annual basis.
