Northwestern welcomes Iowa Oct. 17 at 11 a.m. CDT
EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern unveiled kickoff times for several 2015 football games Friday, including its highly-anticipated Homecoming tilt against Iowa. The Wildcats and Hawkeyes will square off on Saturday, Oct. 17 on Ryan Field at 11 a.m. CDT in a battle of Big Ten West rivals.
The network television announcement for Northwestern's game against Iowa will be made on a 12- or six-day pick by the Big Ten Conference's television partners.
Chicago's Big Ten Team also announced three more start times this week. Northwestern's first road game of the year, slated for Saturday, Sept. 19 at Duke, will kickoff at 11:30 a.m. CDT. The game will be broadcast on the ACC Network and it will be the first contest between the 'Cats and the Blue Devils since Sept. 6, 2008 when NU won in Durham, N.C., 24-20.
The Wildcats will welcome the Ball State Cardinals to Evanston in a clash under the lights for the nonconference finale on Saturday, Sept. 26. Kickoff for the first-ever meeting between the two programs is set for 7 p.m. CDT in a game that will be televised live on the Big Ten Network. Northwestern has hosted at least one primetime game at Ryan Field each season since 2010.
Finally, the Big Ten announced Thursday that NU's Big Ten divisional-crossover game at Michigan on Saturday, Oct. 10 will begin at Michigan Stadium at 2:30 p.m. CDT. Similar to the Wildcats' Homecoming game, the television announcement for the tussle with the Wolverines will be made on a 12- or six-day pick by the conference's television partners.
Season tickets to enjoy Northwestern's seven-game slate at Ryan Field are on sale now. The Wildcats open the 2015 docket at home against a Pac-12 foe for the second consecutive year when the Stanford Cardinal come calling on Saturday, Sept. 5. The 'Cats will also host Eastern Illinois (Sept. 12) and Ball State (Sept. 26 - 7 p.m. CDT) in nonconference action before welcoming Minnesota (Oct. 3), Iowa (Oct. 17 - 11 a.m. CDT), Penn State (Nov. 7) and Purdue (Nov. 14) in Big Ten action.
