Trevor Siemian Taken By Denver Broncos in NFL Draft

Trevor Siemian became the first NU quarterback drafted since Mike Kafka in 2010.
EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern quarterback Trevor Siemian became the second member of Chicago's Big Ten Team to hear his name called during the NFL Draft when the Denver Broncos selected the signal caller in the seventh round.
Siemian, taken with the 250th pick, went under center in 44 games during his Northwestern career, spanning from 2011-2014. The strong-armed quarterback ended his tenure ranked fourth in program history in passing yardage with 5,931 and completions with 550. He threw 27 touchdown passes and ran for six more, including five in 2014.
A two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, Siemian served as a co-captain for the Wildcats in 2014. He turned in several memorable efforts as he was named Northwestern's Offensive Player of the Week against Northern Illinois and the team's Offensive Big Playmaker in games against Penn State, Minnesota, Iowa and Notre Dame.
Siemian was the second member of the Wildcats to be chosen in the 2015 NFL Draft. Safety Ibraheim Campbell was selected earlier Saturday by the Cleveland Browns in the fourth round with the 115th overall pick. The duo is the first pair of NU teammates to be taken in the same draft since Drake Dunsmore and Jeremy Ebert were picked by Tampa Bay and Atlanta, respectively, in 2012. Northwestern head coach Pat Fitzgerald has now seen seven student-athletes taken since the 2010 NFL Draft.
