MADISON, Wis. -- In a lengthy Friday night match, No. 27 Northwestern went undefeated in singles to outlast Wisconsin 6-1. The `Cats improve to 19-7 on the season and 8-2 in the Big Ten, and extend their current win streak to seven.

Fedor Baev and Strong Kirchheimer opened doubles competition with an 8-4 win at No. 2, recording the pair's sixth straight victory. However, the Badgers captured two close 8-7 wins on courts 1 and 3 to take the lead-off point.

The Wildcats soon surged back in singles play. Konrad Zieba defeated Alexander Kokorev 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3, and Fedor Baev edged Jose Carranza 6-3, 7-5 at No. 5.

On court 2, Strong Kirchheimer pushed the score to 3-1 with a 6-0, 6-4 triumph over Jakhongir Jalalov. Alp Horoz then decided the match at No. 6 with a strong second set, prevailing 7-6 (7-4), 6-0 over John Zordani.

The remaining two contests went to three sets. 66th-ranked Sam Shropshire overcame Josef Dodridge 6-1, 2-6, 6-2 on the top court, and Logan Staggs finished the evening by beating Lamar Remy 7-6 (7-2), 2-6, 6-4 at No. 4.

NU completes the regular season on Sunday at No. 33 Minnesota. The match begins at noon.
