EVANSTON, Ill. -- No. 27 Northwestern prepares to finish the regular season strong with trips to Wisconsin and No. 33 Minnesota this weekend. The `Cats are 18-7 on the season and 7-2 in the Big Ten, and have won their last six team matches.

Northwestern is No. 27 in the nation this week and fourth in the conference. In the spring's final home-stand last weekend, the Wildcats beat Nebraska 4-0 and No. 72 Iowa 6-1 on Senior Day.

Sophomore Sam Shropshire is No. 66 in singles and has achieved six straight victories, most recently over Iowa's No. 112 Matt Hagan. He and senior Alex Pasareanu also make up the No. 53 doubles team. The duo is currently on a four-match win streak.

Other unbeaten Wildcats of late include sophomore Alp Horoz (six in singles), junior Fedor Baev (five in singles), and Baev and sophomore Strong Kirchheimer (five in doubles).

Wisconsin is 7-15 this spring and 3-6 in conference play, putting them at ninth in the Big Ten. The Badgers own wins over Nebraska, Purdue, and Michigan State, and boast the No. 76 doubles pair of Jose Carranza and Josef Dodridge.

In 2014, the `Cats swept Wisconsin 7-0 in Evanston.

Minnesota has compiled a 17-6 season record and is 8-1 in the Big Ten. The Gophers currently sit just above the Wildcats at third in the conference, and have won their last three matches. They will face No. 3 Illinois on Friday before hosting Northwestern on Sunday.

Senior Leandro Toledo is Minnesota's top player, and at No. 21 is presently the highest-ranked singles athlete in the Big Ten. Freshman Matic Spec checks in at No. 94 in singles, and seniors Mathieu Froment and Jack Hamburg are No. 47 in doubles.

Northwestern blanked Minnesota 7-0 on last year's Senior Day.
