EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern setter Taylor Tashima has been named All-Big Ten Honorable Mention, the conference announced Tuesday.

Tashima, a sophomore, led one of the most efficient Northwestern attacks ever. The Wildcats hit .214 during the 2015 season, finishing just outside the top five of hitting percentage in school history.

She was one of three setters to receive postseason recognition from the Big Ten.

"We are very proud of Taylor and all that she accomplished this year," head coach Keylor Chan said. "She is a model student-athlete and exemplifies the standards we strive to set for our program."

The Wilmette, Ill. native handed out 1,165 assists over the course of the season, good for an average of 10.89 per set, which ranked fifth among all Big Ten players. She recorded a career high 57 in a five-set match vs. Missouri State on Sept. 12. Her highest per-set total came vs. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Sept. 5, when Tashima had 54 assists in just four sets.

She spread the ball around the court all season, as five players registered more than 400 attacks. Maddie Slater and Gabrielle Hazen each hit .300 or better for the year, and Slater's .344 hitting percentage ranks fourth for a single-season at Northwestern.

Tashima proved to be an all-around player for the Wildcats in 2015, racking up 92 kills on 213 attempts for a .319 hitting percentage. She also had 232 digs, 53 blocks and 15 aces. Tashima notched seven double-doubles, including a 52-assist, 10-dig performance in the Oct. 10 win over then-No. 3 Penn State.

She was featured in Sports Illustrated's "Faces in the Crowd" on Sept. 7.

Kayla Morin was also recognized by the Big Ten as Northwestern's sportsmanship award recipient. Morin, a junior outside hitter from Portage, Mich., recorded 257 kills and 227 digs to go along with 66 blocks and 21 aces. She led the Wildcats in kills six times and registered three double-doubles during the season.
