#B1GCats Take Two of Three at Columbia Duals

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Northwestern fencing won two of three at the Columbia Duals Friday night in New York.
 
The Wildcats thrashed the New Jersey Institute of Technology (25-2) and Fairleigh Dickinson (24-3) to move to 6-1 in 2015. The lone loss came to host Columbia by a narrow 16-11 score.
 
Sabre led the way for Northwestern against NJIT, posting a 9-0 mark, while the epee and foil both went 8-1. Alisha Gomez-Shah, Cindy Oh and Maddy Curzon each were 3-0 in sabre vs. NJIT.
 
The epee proved to be the dominant weapon against FDU, as Juliana Barrett, Helen Foster and Courtney Dumas combined for a perfect 9-0 record.
 
The 'Cats head to Poughkeepsie, N.Y. for the Vassar Duals next Sunday. The all-day event is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
