Head coach Arvid Swan has signed another outstanding recruiting class.

Northwestern Inks Three for 2015-16 Season

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern head men's tennis coach Arvid Swan has announced the signing of three individuals to National Letters of Intent to join the Wildcats for the 2015-16 school year.

The class includes a pair of individuals from the Chicagoland area in Michael Lorenzini (Clarendon Hills, Ill./Hinsdale Central) and Ben Vandixhorn (Libertyville, Ill./Libertyville) in addition to Connecticut native Jason Seidman (Woodbridge, Conn./Amity).

"I am thrilled to welcome Ben, Jason and Michael to the team," Swan said. "I expect all three players to contribute in a very meaningful way to the success of our team next year and beyond."

High School: Ranked No. 29 in the nation by TennisRecruiting.net in 2014 ... Earned a tennis RPI rating of No. 8 in the nation in 2013 ... Rated as a five-star recruit ... All-state and all-conference selection ... Earned a third-place IHSA state finish in 2013 ... Helped lead the Red Devils to back-to-back state championships in 2012 and 2013 ... Team won 2013 DecoTurf high school national championship in Louisville and earned all-tournament team selections in both singles and doubles ... Honor roll student.

Personal: Born Michael August Lorenzini on 4/23/97 ... Son of Ron and Colleen Lorenzini ... Sister, Caroline, plays tennis at Army.

Coach Swan on Lorenzini: "Michael is a tremendous all-court player and athlete. He has a big serve and an ability to mix spin and speed of his groundstrokes along with great instincts to finish at the net."

High School: Ranked No. 52 in the nation by TennisRecruiting.net in 2014 with a tennis RPI of No. 24 ... Rated as a five-star recruit ... Reached round of 16 at Winter Nationals in 2014 ... Three-time all-state selection ... Class LL singles state champion as a sophomore and semifinalist junior year ... Southern Connecticut Conference (SCC) Player of the Year ... All-SCC selection ... Named New Haven Register Most Valuable Player 2013-2014 ... Honor roll student.

Personal: Born Jason Reuben Seidman on 3/7/97 ... Son of David and Lori Seidman.

Coach Swan on Seidman: "Jason is a very good competitor and dominates play with an excellent serve and forehand that allows him to finish the point at any time. He is extremely intelligent with how he sets up points and exploits the weakness of his opponents."

Personal: Born Benjamin William Vandixhorn on 10/22/96 ... Son of Jeff and Cami Vandixhorn ... Father played tennis at Wheaton College.

Coach Swan on Vandixhorn: "Ben has a big lefty serve and forehand. He has the ability to play very aggressively and dominate a match with his offensive skills."
