EVANSTON, Ill. -- As a result of the Big Ten's 2016 transition to a nine-game conference football schedule, Northwestern announced today a pair of date changes for future Big Ten and nonconference contests.
The Conference has approved a date change for the Wildcats' 2016 meeting with West Division foe Nebraska, which has been moved from Oct. 8 to Sept. 24, 2016.
Consequently, a Northwestern road game at Stanford originally scheduled for Sept. 24, 2016, will now be played on Aug. 31, 2019.
The first leg of the home-and-home series between Northwestern and Stanford, a Sept. 5 meeting at Ryan Field in next fall's season-opener, remains unchanged.
