EVANSTON, Ill. -- Boasting a pair of wins over Top-20 opponents in their last three matches, the Wildcats welcome No. 26 Michigan and the Michigan State Spartans to Lakeside Field on Friday and Sunday in the penultimate home weekend of the 2014 regular-season.

Northwestern will wrap up the regular-season slate with three games in Evanston, as the team pursues a bid in the 2014 Big Ten Tournament. Head coach Michael Moynihan's Wildcats knocked off then-No. 18 Illinois in their last home match, and handed No. 16 Rutgers their first home defeat of the season last time out. Sophomore Addie Steiner scored a 97th-minute goal, her team-leading ninth of the season, to down the Scarlet Knights in Piscataway last Sunday, and freshman goalkeeper Lauren Clem posted her sixth clean sheet of the year.

The three-game homestand begins on Friday, Oct 24, at 7 p.m. when the 'Cats host the No. 26 Michigan Wolverines at Lakeside Field.

Michigan enters the weekend in fourth place in the Big Ten at 7-2-1, and 11-4-1 overall, though they have compiled just a 2-3-0 mark outside of Ann Arbor this season. The Wolverines are led offensively by sophomore forward Nicky Waldeck, a Chicago native, who ranks second in the Big Ten with 11 goals and 26 points. Their attack revolves around redshirt-freshman Ani Sarkisian and junior Corinne Harris, who lead the Conference with ten and nine assists, respectively.

On Sunday at 1 p.m. Northwestern will take on the Michigan State Spartans at Lakeside Field. The visitors bring a 3-6-1 mark in the Big Ten and a 9-6-1 overall record with them from East Lansing. Michigan State ranks third in the Conference this season in fouls, and leads the pack with 10 yellow cards during the 2014 campaign.

Tickets for both matches are available at the entrance to Lakeside Field, or by calling 888-GO-PURPLE.
