Northwestern Team Notes
• This was the 90th all-time meeting between Northwestern and Minnesota. NU's loss snapped a string of three consecutive road wins for the Wildcats in the series. It is Northwestern's first loss at TCF Bank Stadium (2-1)

• The loss also denied Northwestern its first 3-0 start to a Big Ten season since the 2000 campaign.

• NU and Minnesota came into the game tied for second in the Big Ten with a (+6) turnover margin on the year.

• Northwestern also began the day tied with the Gophers for second in the conference with eight interceptions. The Wildcats defense had one pick in the game and now have hauled in six over NU's last three outings. Minnesota also recorded an interception on NU's Hail Mary attempt on the final play of the game.

• Minnesota's game-opening touchdown represented the first time Northwestern trailed in a game since the fourth quarter of its Week Two loss to Northern Illinois -- a span of more than 191 minutes of game action.

• The 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Minnesota's Jalen Myrick was the first KOR TD allowed by the Wildcats since a 96-yard score by Indiana's Tevin Coleman on Sept. 29, 2012.

• Northwestern's 50 pass attempts were the most by the Wildcats since throwing it 51 times at Iowa on Oct. 15, 2011.

• Northwestern held an advantage in time of possession for the game (31:31 to 28:29).

• Freshman RB Justin Jackson surpassed the 100-yard plateau on the ground for the second straight game, totaling a game-high 106 yards on 23 carries. Jackson had 162 yards on 33 attempts last week vs. Wisconsin, making him the first NU player with consecutive 100-yard rushing performances since Venric Mark vs. Iowa (162) and Michigan (104) in 2012.

• Jackson also recorded his first career receiving touchdown in the game, an 11-yard pass from Siemian. Jackson set career highs for receptions (4) and receiving yards (50).
