EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern played its lone exhibition match of the season Wednesday night at Lakeside Field and took down crosstown rival DePaul, 3-2.

In a back-and-forth match, junior forward Katie Landgrebe scored the game-winning goal for Northwestern in the 61st minute.

Second-year head coach Michael Moynihan used a variety of lineups to get ready for the 2013 campaign as seven freshmen got on the field for the Wildcats. NU also played four different goalkeepers in the victory.

With fewer than four minutes remaining before halftime, Northwestern trailed DePaul 1-0 but within exactly two minutes, the 'Cats suddenly took a 2-1 advantage.

Freshman forward Addie Steiner tied the game 1-1 at 41:16, lofting a shot into the net after getting a pass from freshman Kourtney Scott. At 43:16, senior Natalie Lagunas gave the 'Cats a 2-1 lead, scoring off an assist from senior forward Kate Allen.

In the game's 55th minute, DePaul tied the game again, at 2-2 off a Rachel Pitman goal.

Landgrebe put the 'Cats up for good at 60:06, taking a pass from Suzanne Malherbe.

DePaul's Amber Paul opened the scoring at the 11:07 mark, putting the ball in the goal off a free kick from 25 yards away.
