Fitzgerald Ready for ESPN 'Car Wash' Experience in Bristol

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Before buckling down for the start of training camp Monday, Northwestern head coach Pat Fitzgerald is set to share the Wildcats story with college football fans across the country during a day-long trip to ESPN headquarters in Bristol, Conn., on Thursday (Aug. 1).
Referred to as the 'Car Wash' by ESPN, the media itinerary for the day includes several live hits on various ESPN platforms. The first stop is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. CT when Coach Fitz will join Northwestern alum Mike Greenberg as well as Mike Golic on the air for 'Mike and Mike in the Morning,' simulcast to national audiences on ESPN Radio (ESPN1000 in Chicago) and on ESPN2.
From there, Fitzgerald moves on to interviews with several members of ESPN's college football reporting team, including a podcast with Ivan Maisel and sit-downs with College Football Insider's Travis Haney and Brett McMurphy. He'll also have a chance to stop by `The Herd' with host Colin Cowherd at 11:15 a.m. CT.
Fitzgerald's afternoon consists of interview on SportsCenter (12:40 p.m. CT), College Football Live (1:20 p.m. CT) and the 'Coach & Company' radio show (2:15 p.m. CT). Fitzgerald will also find time to engage in a live online chat with ESPN.com Big Ten bloggers Adam Rittenberg and Brian Bennett at approximately 1:50 p.m. CT.
All 12 Big Ten head coaches are scheduled to undergo ESPN's Car Wash treatment over the two-day period of Wednesday, July 31, and Thursday, Aug. 1. The event comes on the heels of last week's Big Ten Media Day and Kickoff Luncheon events in Chicago, where Fitzgerald and the rest of the conference brass came together to preview the upcoming the season.
