Northwestern Recruiting Class Ranked in Top 10 Nationally

EVANSTON, Ill. - Fresh off one of its winningest seasons in school history, Northwestern's men's tennis team will welcome one of the top recruiting classes in the nation. The Wildcats' four-person class has been ranked No. 8 nationally by TennisRecruiting.net.
Northwestern will welcome Konrad Zieba (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South), Samuel Shropshire (Philadelphia, Pa./Chestnut Hill Academy), Strong Kirchheimer (Cary, N.C./University of Texas High School) and Alp Horoz (Istanbul, Turkey/Saddlebrook Preparatory School (Tampa, Fla.)) to the squad next year. Zieba, Shropshire, and Kirchheimer have been rated as blue-chip players.
The `Cats are coming off a historical season. The team finished the season with a 22-10 record and the 22 wins were the second highest single-season total in school history. Northwestern also captured a first-round victory against Wake Forest in the NCAA tournament, marking the team's first tournament win since 1998.
Northwestern earned a ranking of No. 32 in the ITA year-end team rankings. They ended the season as fourth-highest ranked Big Ten team behind only Ohio State (4), Illinois (24) and Michigan (26).
