EVANSTON, Ill. -- Four members of Northwestern's all-time winningest senior class earned opportunities with National Football League franchises this weekend, including a pair who inked free agent contracts following the recent 2013 NFL Draft.

Offensive tackle and two-time first-team Capital One Academic All-American Patrick Ward agreed to a deal with the Miami Dolphins Saturday night, while defensive tackle Brian Arnfelt joined Ward in the AFC by signing his name to a contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Additionally, wide receiver Demetrius Fields can look forward to making the short commute from Evanston to Chicago to participate in mini-camps with the hometown Bears, joining former NU teammate Corey Wootton in the process. Linebacker David Nwabuisi also earned the opportunity to compete for an NFL job when he earned an invite to train with the Carolina Panthers.

Northwestern's 2012 senior class helped the Wildcats continue to reach new heights as a program, capping five consecutive years of postseason berths with a memorable victory over Mississippi State in the 2013 TaxSlayer.com Gator Bowl in Jacksonville.
