BTN Announces 2013-14 Men's Basketball Broadcast Schedule

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Big Ten Network announced its 2013-14 men's basketball broadcast schedule today (Oct. 2) and Northwestern is slated to have at least 14 of its games televised this season, including three nonconference matchups.
The Wildcats' first appearance will come in its season-opener Nov. 9 against Eastern Illinois. The contest marks Chris Collins' first regular-season game as NU's head coach. Northwestern will also have two other games televised by BTN prior to the start of conference play as it takes on Mississippi Valley State Dec. 16 and local foe DePaul Dec. 27.
The team's other five nonconference regular-season home games are being streamed live on the Big Ten Digital Network (BTDN) via Wildcats All-Access.
NU's first conference game on BTN will be a Jan. 5 matchup at defending national runner-up Michigan.
From Jan. 12-Feb. 1, Northwestern will have seven consecutive league games televised by BTN, beginning with a home game against Illinois. The 'Cats also have home contests against Michigan State, Purdue and Iowa as well as road games at Indiana, Wisconsin and Minnesota televised during the stretch.
Other matchups slated for BTN broadcast include at Michigan State (Feb. 13) and Ohio State (Feb. 19) as well as at home vs. Minnesota (Feb. 16).
Northwestern has two wild card contests on its schedule, meaning the game could be televised by either CBS or BTN. Those games are home vs. Indiana (Feb. 22 or 23) and at Purdue (March 8 or 9).
