Zanotti Advances in ITA Regional Championships Qualifying Singles

COLUMBUS, Ohio. -- Junior Alberto Zanotti won two matches Thursday at the ITA Regional Championships to advance to the third round in qualifying singles. He will take on DePaul's Sten Leusink Friday morning, and a victory will gain him entry into the main draw.
In the first round, Zanotti defeated Serqiu Muresan of Chicago State 6-0, 6-4. He went on to win 6-3, 7-5 against Michigan's Tyler Gardiner.
Freshman Alp Horoz fell to Gardiner in the first round 6-3, 3-6, 6-1.
The singles main draw and doubles play kick off Friday after the final round of qualifying singles in the morning.
