EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern announced kickoff times for two more of its September nonconference matchups Thursday, beginning with its Sept. 1 season-opening road test at Syracuse that will begin at 11 a.m. CT and air live on ESPN2. Two weeks later (Sept. 15), the Wildcats will host Boston College at Ryan Field with a 2:30 p.m. CT kick and television coverage provided by the Big Ten Network.
Northwestern had previously announced a primetime (7 p.m. CT) start for its home-opener against Vanderbilt on Saturday, Sept. 8.
The Wildcats and Orange are meeting for the third time in five years having split a home-and-home series spanning the 2008 and 2009 seasons, with both teams posting victories on their respective home fields. Northwestern will be aiming to improve to 7-0 in season-openers under head coach Pat Fitzgerald.
Northwestern and BC are squaring off for the second straight season after the Wildcats kicked off the 2011 campaign with a 24-17 victory at Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill.
Season tickets for Northwestern's seven-game home slate, which in addition to Vanderbilt and Boston College includes dates with Nebraska (Oct. 20), Iowa (Oct. 27) and Illinois (Nov. 24), are available now by calling the Northwestern Athletics ticket office at 888-GO-PURPLE or by visiting the online ticket office at NUsports.com.
