EVANSTON, Ill -- At 9-3 overall and 5-3 in the Big Ten, Northwestern has earned a place in all three major national polls at the conclusion of the 2012 regular season. The Wildcats on Sunday checked in at No. 20 in the USA Today/Coaches Poll -- the highest ranking for NU this season -- and No. 22 in both the Associated Press and Bowl Championship Series (BCS) standings.

Northwestern posted a nine-win regular season for the second time in the last five seasons, capped with a dominant 50-14 win over rival Illinois Saturday at Ryan Field. NU also was 4-0 against nonconference opponents this year and was the only conference-affiliated team in the country to play and defeat teams from three different BCS conferences this season (Syracuse, Vanderbilt, Boston College).

The Wildcats will be making their fifth consecutive appearance in a bowl game this postseason and will learn their destination and opponent on Sunday, Dec. 2. Visit NUsports.com in the coming days for details on how to purchase tickets to the game and support the 'Cats.
