EVANSTON, Ill. -- On Saturday, April 30, Northwestern Swimming will hold an open house to introduce the men's and women's programs to prospective student-athletes. Be sure to register with the Wildcat coaching staff today!

NU's open house will provide a comprehensive overview of the Northwestern world-class student-athlete experience. The event is scheduled to kick off at 10 a.m. CT with tours of the weight room and athletic departments located next to Ryan Field.

After the first leg of the tour, the open house will move to the Northwestern campus to tour the Sports Pavilion Aquatics Center (SPAC), followed by a student and coaches panel and lunch at noon. A campus tour including visits to dorms and classrooms will round out the event for the day.

On Friday, the day before the Open House, prospective students are welcome to attend a class in session.

Anyone interested in participating in the Open House should contact either Kyle Schack at k-schack@northwestern.edu or Nichole Ellis at n-ellis@northwestern.edu as soon as possible. The coaching staff is always available to meet with families that happen to be on campus at any time as well.

The Northwestern men's swimming program is coming off of a spectacular year as three swimmers reached the NCAA Championships, the most for NU since 2008. Seniors Alex Tyler and Sean Mathews both garnered All-American honors to help the 'Cats finish 30th in the nation at the end of the season.

The women's program had success in the pool in 2010-11 as 18 swimmers -- 75 percent of the roster -- had at least one lifetime-best time at the Big Ten Championships. Additionally, 19 new individual times were established on the All-Time Top 10 list along with four new top-10 relay times. Each class is represented on this list for the 2010-2011 year.
