EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern will send a trio to represent the Wildcats at the 2011 NCAA Championships March 24-26 in Minneapolis, according to the official psych sheet released today by the NCAA.

Seniors Sean Mathews (St. Louis, Mo./Lafayette) and Alex Tyler (Birmingham, Mich./Birmingham Groves) will be making their second-straight appearances at the NCAA Championships while sophomore Charlie Rimkus (Tustin, Calif./Beckman) will be making his first trip to the meet.

Tyler qualified for the meet in two events, the 200 IM and 400 IM, while Mathews (200 fly) and Rimkus (400 IM) each qualified in one event. In addition to those events, the Wildcats will fill out their NCAA schedules with other races in which they have earned NCAA `B' times during the season.

Tyler is a returning All-American after picking up honorable mention honors in the 200 IM a year ago.

The three-man contingent is the most for the Wildcats since they sent four during a 12th-place national finish in 2008. This season marks the 11th-straight year Northwestern has been represented at the NCAA Championships.
