Northwestern Announces 2011 Summer Volleyball Camps Schedule

Register Here For The 2011 Northwestern Volleyball Summer Camps
EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern volleyball is once again offering the opportunity to local volleyball fans and players the opportunity to take part in the Northwestern Volleyball Camps this upcoming summer. Camp participants will receive hands-on training from head coach Keylor Chan, his coaching staff and members of the Wildcat volleyball team.
Three different types of camps are being offered this summer, beginning with the middle school day camps. Designed for boys and girls in grades 4-8, three different clinics are being held. Session one will take place June 13-15, session two will be held July 6-8 with the third session held July 19-21.
Two different camps will be geared toward high school girls in grades 8-12. The skills camp will be held July 14-17, with both an overnight and commuter option available. Participants will get a chance to develop their skills and fundamentals, with the clinic highlighted by the Tournament of Champions on the final day.
The Wildcats are also offering a high school positional camp on July 11, also for girls in grades 8-12. Whether participants are a setter, outside hitter, middle blocker or libero, they will get the chance to receive techniques and skills focused to their individual position.
Participants will get to work with and train with the Wildcats, who are coming off an NCAA tournament berth in 2010. Northwestern advanced to the second round of the tournament, notched 20 victories on the year and finished tied for seventh in the Big Ten, one of the nation's top volleyball conferences. Middle blocker Sabel Moffett was named a second team AVCA All-American and was a unanimous All-Big Ten selection. Naomi Johnson was an honorable mention for both All-American and All-Big Ten, with Stephanie Holthus being named to the All-Big Ten Freshman Team.
