Graves Edged on Day Two of Ranked Plus One Invite

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- Northwestern junior Joshua Graves dropped his second-round match at the Ranked Plus One Invite hosted by Virginia, falling to Wisconsin's Billy Bertha by a score of 6-2, 3-6, 6-4.
Graves advanced in the consolation bracket after East Tennessee's Charles Bottoni withdrew, setting up a tournament-concluding match against Virginia's Steven Rooda at 8 a.m. CT Sunday.
Sophomore Spencer Wolf also advanced in the flight four consolation bracket, winning the first set against North Carolina's Taylor Meyer, 6-2, before Meyer retired to hand Wolf the victory. Wolf will face Wake Forest's David Hopkins in the final match Sunday.
In flight three doubles play, Graves and Wolf teamed up to defeat Sebastian Florczyk and Benedikt Lindheim, 8-3, in the consolation third-place match.
