Northwestern hits the road for the first time in nearly a month this weekend, as the Wildcats venture away from Evanston to open their conference schedule. The 'Cats take on Indiana in Bloomington Friday night before heading to Purdue for a nationally televised match Sunday on the Big Ten Network.

Last Time Out
The Wildcats dominated the run of play last Friday in a 2-0 win over Illinois State. Seniors Jenny Baumann and Sam Greene each scored for NU, which outshot the Redbirds 14-6 in the match. On Sunday, Northwestern went toe-to-toe with No. 7 Notre Dame, logging several scoring chances in the final 15 minutes before ultimately falling, 2-1. Freshman Julie Sierks scored the first goal of her collegiate career in the loss.

Scouting the Opponents
Indiana snapped a four-match winless streak last weekend with a 2-1 win over Central Michigan. The Hoosiers boast a potent offensive attack, having scored 18 goals in nine games and have only been shutout once in non-conference play. Orianica Velasquez and Carly Samp are tied for the team lead with five goals scored each, while three goalkeepers have split time - and starts - in the net this season for IU. The Hoosiers enter Friday with a team GAA of 1.70.

Purdue opens its conference season against Wisconsin before hosting the 'Cats on Sunday afternoon. The Boilermakers are 1-4 in their last five matches, but one of the losses was an overtime defeat to then-No. 7 Texas A&M. Eight different players have tallied at least one goal this season for Purdue. Senior Carianne Betts has started all 10 games in net for the Boilers and boasts a 1.30 GAA.

Series Information
Northwestern leads the all-time series with Indiana, 9-7-2. The Wildcats have won five of the last six meetings, including a 1-0 win in Evanston last season. In that match, Alicia Herczeg scored in the 81st minute to lift NU to victory over the then-No. 19 Hoosiers.

The Wildcats trail Purdue, 2-10-0, in the all-time series between those two schools. The Boilermakers claimed a 2-0 win last season at Lakeside Field behind two goals from Katie Seeger. Northwestern's last win in the series came in 2004. The year prior, the Wildcats got their first and only win in West Lafayette, a 2-1 decision.
